Jacob Andrew Grambow

BESSEMER, Mich. — Jacob Andrew Grambow, 16, of Bessemer, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, in Bessemer.

Jacob was born Oct. 29, 1996, in Marshfield, Wis. He attended Ironwood grade schools, and since the seventh grade, attended Bessemer schools. He was currently a junior at the A.D. Johnston High School.

Jacob had many friends who were important to him. He loved four-wheeling, fishing, swimming at the open pit and hanging out. He could often be found playing video games online with his friends.

Jacob loved his family and got a kick out of goofing off and being a jokester. He was a smart, funny, loving son, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his parents, April Doney-Heckman and Robert Heckman; brothers, Ryley Doney and Cooper Heckman; maternal grandparents, Norman (Terri) Doney, of Marshfield, and Judith Barner, of Duluth, Minn .; paternal grandmother, Carol Heckman, of Ironwood; maternal aunts, Angel Mulhall, of Ironwood, Anndrea (Somchai) Chinawong, of Wautoma, Wis., and Marion Doney, Audrey Doney and Lydia Doney, all of Marshfield; maternal uncles, Vince Dull, of Connecticut, Fred Dull, of Wyoming, Jim Barber, of Ironwood, Bobby (Tamara) Barber, of Ironwood, Nicholas Doney, of Florida, and Andrew Doney and Alex Doney, both of Marshfield; paternal aunts, Julie (Floyd) Ruegsegger, of Ironwood, and Melody (Chris) Fortson, of Fowlerville. Many cousins also survive.

Also surviving are Jacob’s biological father, Steven Grambow, paternal grandmother, Jeannie Grambow, and paternal aunt, Gina Pankratz, all of Marshfield.

Jacob was preceded in death by his cousin, Torey Gerbig, whom he loved very much.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 7, at the Lighthouse Family Church, 777 E. Ayer St., Ironwood, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Tom Rouse will officiate.

Jacob’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
