Cortney Ofstad/Daily Globe
SGT. GERARD “Bubba” Trcka, right, receives a handshake from Iron County Sheriff Tony Furyk at the Sheriff’s Department Monday during Trcka’s retirement party. Trcka has worked for the department for 25 years as a jailer/dispatcher. He last official day is Nov. 1. Retiring “feels great,” Trcka said. His free time will be spent hunting, fishing and having coffee at the department. “We’re sad to see him go, and his years of experience will be missed,” Furyk said. “He was an asset to this department.”
