Russell Pirlot

MILWAUKEE — Russell B. Pirlot, 71, Milwaukee, died Nov. 9, 2013.

He was born on Aug. 5, 1942, in Escanaba to Ruby and George Pirlot. He attended schools in Escanaba, graduating from Escanaba High School.

Russ served in the U.S. Marine Corps from June of 1960 until June of 1964.

On July 27, 1968, he married the former Katie Talaska in Ironwood, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

He worked for Teledyne Wisconsin Motors, retiring in 1992.

He is survived by his wife, Katie, Greenfield; children, Greg (Carrie Kopke), Milwaukee, and Sarah Johnson, Castle Rock, Colo .; grandchildren, Rian Nicole and Zachary Edward; sisters, Vicki Stone (Alex Hamilton), Gladstone, and Betty (Howard) Marshall, of Texas; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Charlie (Jean) Gallo, Plymouth, Minn., Bob (Betty) Talaska, Hartland, Ken (Tracey) Talaska, Ironwood, Larry (Louise) Buerger, Ironwood, and Al Hitterman, of Florida; as well as nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

The family would like to give a special thank you to his friend John Koivisto for his wonderful kindness and unfailing visits weekly to Russ from the time of his placement at River Hills until the time of his passing.

Also, a special thank you to the staff at River Hills West for their care and kindness and for treating Russ with the respect he deserved.

A celebration of Russ’s life will take place in Milwaukee at a later date.
