FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - Allie I. Brege, of Frankenmuth, formerly of Wakefield, Bessemer, Frankentrost and Rogers City, was called home by her Lord on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center Cooper, at the age of 91 years.
Allie Ahonen was born on April 7, 1922, to the late K. Hjalmer and Lempi (Anderson) Ahonen.
She was married to Vernon C. Jarvi. He preceded her in death in 1956.
She later married the Rev. Clifford P. Brege, who predeceased her in 2009.
Allie worked for the U.S. War Department in Detroit, Wakefield Schools and Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance. She was a devout Christian and served her Lord in many capacities.
Surviving are three daughters, Paula Jarvi, of Clio, Marjorie Jarvi Rafferty, of Orlando, Fla., and Vernice (Robert) Hoyt, of Ames, Iowa; two grandchildren, Elisabeth (Gregory) Kline, of Reminderville, Ohio, and Jonathan Hoyt, of Dubuque, Iowa; one great-grandchild, Avery Kline; one sister, Ruth (Louis) Keppers, of Duluth, Minn.; two brothers, Reino Ahonen, of Minneapolis, and R. Daniel (Bev) Ahonen, of Wakefield; and many nieces and nephews and their progeny.
Allie was preceded in death by nine brothers, Carl, Leo, Reuben, Leslie, Arne, Richard, Arvi, David and Jacob; three sisters, Ellen, Aina and Edna; and a son-in-law, Murrell Rafferty.
Funeral services will take place today, Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. EST at Cederberg Funeral Home of Frankenmuth, 590 N. Franklin St. The Rev. Joel C. Kaiser will officiate, with burial to take place at a later date in Rogers City.
Allie's family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m.
