ASHLAND, Wis. - Roger G. Stenroos, 67, of Ashland, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at his residence.
Roger was born April 23, 1946, in Ironwood, Mich., the son of Eugene and Gloria (Lehto) Stenroos. He was a U.S. Army veteran. On Dec. 15, 1979, he was united in marriage to Linda M. Forslund in Richfield, Minn. He was employed as a salesman at Forslund Building Supply for more than 30 years.
He enjoyed playing in the church dartball league, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and visiting with friends wherever he went. He was a handyman who loved to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda, of Ashland; sons, Jeff (Lynn), of Waunakee, Paul "P.J." (Steph), of Oshkosh, and Michael (Amy), of Superior; daughters, Sarah Stenroos, of Kansasville, and Kimberly (Curt) Harpster, of Ashland; seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Larry, Monty, Carson, Shay, Bryson and Carson; brothers, Rodney (Jill), of Hastings, Minn., Daryl (Ludy), of Las Vegas, Glenn (Johanne), of Ironwood, Duane (Rhonda), of Pennsylvania, and Scott (Nola), of Superior; sister, Donna (Louie) Amell, of Las Vegas; sisters-in-law, Geri Stenroos, of Beloit, and Lynne Stenroos, of Hastings; brother-in-law, Paul (Candace) Forslund, of Ironwood; mother-in-law, Lillian Forslund, of Ironwood; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companion, Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Daniel and Ricky.
A funeral service for Roger will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashland, with Vicar Rick Williams officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland and continue from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church in Ashland on Monday.
Interment will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery in Ashland.
