IRONWOOD - The Carnegie Library recently received a $19,000 grant from the Reinhardt Library Fund for lighting improvements.
"We are proud and excited to have received this grant," Elaine Erickson, library director, said.
The lighting, installed on the first floor, has a more historic feel, Erickson said, and adds to the ambience of the library.
Desk lamps, task lamps and new lighting for the exterior of the library are being selected to complete the project.
Robert Charles Reinhardt, who passed away in 2008, worked for Dow Chemical in Midland for 30 years. In a news release, his wife, Ilene, said, "Education and reading were important to Bob. He believed library resources should be available to everyone."
The Reinhardt Library Fund will no longer be offering grants, Erickson said.
The library's board of directors will meet Tuesday at 4 p.m., and a presentation will be given on possibilities for expansion, Erickson said.
