IRONWOOD, Mich. — Josephine C. Florek, 92, of Joliet, Ill., and a current resident at Keen Agers in Wakefield, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood.

The former Josephine Perhalla was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Zokopian) Perhalla, and attended Luther L. Wright High School. She was employed in the receiving department at Marshall-Fields in Chicago for 33 years until her retirement in 1995, and had resided in Joliet until returning to Ironwood in August 2013. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and walking.

She married Charles Florek in 1948 in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Surviving are a brother, Rudy (Susan) Perhalla, Ironwood; two sisters, Eloise Perhalla, Ironwood, and Evelyn (Frank) O’Berto, Henderson, Nev .; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by brothers, Steve and John Perhalla; and sisters, Mary Gacek, Elizabeth Jarrell, Margaret Kurtz, Katherine Perhalla, Jeannette Stuart and Agnes Perhalla.

There will be no services.

Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, in the spring.
