Many thanks offered to St. Vincent de Paul supporters

To the Editor:

I guess the word is “wow.” Where did year 2013 go? On behalf of the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Ironwood, I would like to thank the following.

To the individuals and businesses from area communities that flooded us with donations of clothing, household items, furniture and individuals who made monetary donations in memory of deceased loved ones, thank you.

To our “family” of customers, thank you for your purchases, patience standing in what seemed to be a long line at the check-out during busy times, and to some, just for being there each and every day.

To the volunteers, no matter what job you may do — cashiering, sorting, marking, washing dishes, testing electrical items, stocking, trash hauling or any job that I may have forgotten — you have done a great job this year. Your desire, determination and dedication to get the job done are amazing. Thank you so much for going the extra mile.

Last, but not least, to the guys doing the pick-ups and deliveries, what can I say? First of all, thank you for your professionalism and courtesy you extend, for putting up with sometimes mythical addresses and directions. Most of all, for having to drop things with minutes’ notice to deliver much-needed medical equipment. Without you, many things would be impossible.

Most of all, thank you for truly believing in us and allowing us to help our friends in need throughout the area. May Christ’s peace and love be with you throughout the year.
