Charles H. Mott Jr.

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Charles H. Mott Jr., 76, of Bessemer, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, in Wakefield.

He was born Sept. 1, 1937, in Ewen, son of the late Charles H. and Lillian (VanBlarcom) Mott. He resided in Ewen most of his life, moving to Bessemer in 2011.

Charles was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. On June 27, 1959, he was united in marriage with Patricia Lubarsky in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death in 2011.

Charles is survived by three sons, Charles (Marsha) Mott III, of Alabama, Ben (Tammi) Mott, of Florida, and Patrick Mott, of California; three daughters, Blanche (Scott) Bone, of California, Michelle (Bill) Carter, of California, and JoAnn (Matt) Sheffler, of Ironwood; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Mittie) Mott, of Ewen; two sisters, Ila (Al) Anderson, of Ewen, and Peggy (Greg Ahler) Duncan, of Ironwood; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Charles was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty and Caroline.

Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer. The Rev. Chips Paulson will officiate. A military flag presentation will be held by the Wakefield VFW Post 9084 honor guard.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.

A luncheon will follow at the Wakefield VFW post.

Spring inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ewen.

Arrangements are by Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer.
