Divers pull 3rd Minnesotta student from Chicago River

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago police divers have pulled the body of a female University of Minnesota student from the icy Chicago River after an accident that left another student dead and a third injured.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the woman pulled from the river Wednesday as 21-year-old Lauren Li of Burnsville, Minn. Twenty-six-year-old Ken Hoang, of St. Paul, was pronounced dead after he was pulled from the river Monday. A third student, Quoc-Viet Phan Hoang was rescued and treated at a Chicago hospital.

Chicago police have said Ken Hoang jumped over a fence downtown to retrieve a cellphone he'd dropped in the water. The others tried to help but fell in after him.

The University of Minnesota says Li was a senior in the College of Biological Sciences.
