Volunteers, events make area shine

To the Editor:

I have had the pleasure to attend many area events in the past few weeks. On behalf of all of the people who organize these events, I would like to give a huge shout out and thank you to each and every one of you that were involved in any way with the area’s events.

I keep going back to this, but our area is like none other. We would be considered by other folks’ standards as small, rural communities. I have seen world-class events come to our backyard to play because of the dedication, determination, passion, strength, commitment and stamina of each and every one of you who reached out in whatever way to make these events successful. And the best part, folks have noticed and want to come back to play with us again.

From the snowmobile parade and party to the Pro Vintage Snowmobile Olympus racing and party to the Sisu Ski Fest to the USSA ProStar/TLR Cup Series snowmobile racing and parties, to the area’s hockey games, basketball games, to whatever we put our minds to, all of you are what make it happen.

I have watched so many hats being worn by so many different people. Then when the next event or activity happens, people just change hats, roll up their sleeves and dig right in and get the job done, time and time again.

I am so proud to be a part of this community where everyone tries their best to make big things happen; trust me when I tell you the visitors see this and appreciate this. I can only see our events getting bigger and better, and that is because of all of you.

Thank you for volunteering to make our area shine — it certainly does and it is only getting brighter.
