A SIGN that spring might arrive some day on the Gogebic Range is the removal of ice shacks from lakes and flowages. These two mini houses for anglers await removal from the snowed-over parking lot at the County C dikes on the Gile Flowage, near Hurley. The flag was flapping in a stiff, bitterly cold wind. The deadline for removing shelters from inland Wisconsin waters was March 16, but 10 days later there was still at least 30 inches of ice on lakes and flowages.
