Clyde Wayne Coxey

BIG BEAR LAKE, Calif. — Clyde Wayne Coxey, 81, of Big Bear Lake, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014. He was born on Aug. 4, 1932.

He was born and raised in Bessemer, Mich., and was an A.D. Johnston High School graduate. Clyde was a Navy veteran from the Korean conflict and was also a graduate of the University of Michigan. He was the son of the late Clyde and Mildred Coxey.

Clyde moved to California in 1974, where he became a prominent business owner and Elks member.

Survivors include his spouse, Caryl Coxey, of Big Bear Lake; daughter, Cathy Coxey Lindquist, her spouse Niels, and granddaughters, Kaya Lindquist, Kelly Lindquist and Marae Lindquist, all of North Carolina; brother, Clare Coxey, and his spouse, Nelda Coxey; Marilyn Georgie and her spouse, George Georgie; and many nieces and nephews.

His family and friends are deeply saddened on the passing of a most treasured and loved man.

Services will be held on Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Big Bear Lake, with Caryl’s brother, Jon Laflin, officiating for an official Elks memorial service.
