RED CLIFF, Wis. - Jamie M. Sokolowski, 35, of Red Cliff, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at her home.

She was born Dec. 5, 1978, in Washburn, the daughter of Frank Gordon Sr. and Alice Pechaver. Jamie graduated from Bayfield High School in 1997. She attended Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College-Ashland for awhile and Lac Courte Oreilles Community College in Hayward, graduating in 2004 with an associate degree in liberal arts and Native American studies. Jamie worked at Greunke's Restaurant, The Bayfield Inn and Andy's IGA in Bayfield.

On May 7, 2011, she married Jerome "Jerry" Sokolowski in Red Cliff. Together they tenderly cared for their three children. Jamie enjoyed decorative painting, crocheting, music, baking, eating lobster, and especially her "Northcoast Coffee." Most recently, Jamie was on the Red Cliff Early Childhood Center Policy Board. She was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, and will be greatly missed.

Jamie is survived by her husband, Jerry Sokolowski, of Red Cliff; her three children, Stormy, Chance and Jacob; parents, Frank (Myrtle) Gordon Sr. and Alice Pechaver, all of Red Cliff; brother, Frank (Barb) Gordon Jr., of Red Cliff; sister, Annie Gordon, of Red Cliff; nieces, Vennessa and Michelle Gordon, of Red Cliff; father- and mother-in-law, Jerry and Cheryl Sokolowski, of Ironwood, Mich .; brother-in-law, Bryan (Randi) Sokolowski, of Wakefield, Mich .; nephew, Matthew; special friends, Sophie LaGrew, Angie Lee, April Heckman and Pam DeRam; and numerous stepsiblings, nieces and nephews.

Jamie was preceded in death by her grandparents.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, April 7, at the Red Cliff Elderly Center, with Deacon Roger Cadotte officiating.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday at the center, until the hour of service.

Burial will be in the New Red Cliff Cemetery.
