Livio A. 'Leo' Ravanelli

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Livio A. "Leo" Ravanelli, 79, of Milwaukee, and a native of Ironwood, Mich., passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Lake Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milwaukee, with his godchild, Charlotte Gaudreau, at his side.

He was born in Ironwood on Nov. 7, 1934, to Joseph L. and Agnes (Betta) Ravanelli Sr. He attended Newport School in Jessieville and graduated from St. Ambrose High School with the class of 1952. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for four years and later went to school to become an X-ray technician. He worked in several hospitals in the Milwaukee and Two Rivers area and spent his retirement years visiting his relatives in Ironwood and Hurley.

Livio is survived by two sons, Frank and Robert; two daughters, Jean and Joan; numerous grandchildren; and people who cared for him, his sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Jim Reed; nieces, Charlotte (Brian) Gaudreau, Jean Reed, Lynn (Glen) Kuklinski and Christine (Nathan) Krone; great-nieces, Crystal and Brittany Kuklinski and Taylor and Molly Gaudreau; and great-nephews, Jimmy Kuklinski and Nathan Krone. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph, in 1981; mother, Agnes, in 1996; and brothers, John "Black" Ravanelli, 1991, and Joseph L. Ravanelli Jr., 2002.

Local services and burial will be held at a later date to be announced.

The family wishes to thank the staff, and especially Jenny Remo from hospice and her team, and the entire staff of doctors and nurses at Lake Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center, for the wonderful care given to Livio during his lengthy stay. They sure were wonderful.
