Sarah J. Landon

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Sarah J. Landon, of Minneapolis, died peacefully on March 27, 2014.

She and her twin sister Mary were born Nov. 25, 1916, in Wausau, Wis., the daughters of John Stewart Landon and Mary Isabelle (McInnis) Landon. They spent their early years in Medford, Wis., and Ironwood, Mich., and graduated from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis. After early employment in Ironwood and Duluth, Sarah moved to Minneapolis, where she spent her career as a legal secretary with what was then the Mackall, Crounse, Moore law firm. She was a 61-year member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a longtime member of the Women's Association of the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra (WAMSO) and a lifelong Republican.

Sarah is survived by her sister, Mary Sullivan, of Montreal, Wis., and Minneapolis; niece, Sarah Sullivan, Roseville, Minn .; and nephew, John Landon Sullivan, his wife Denise, and their children, John and Erin, Wausau. She never married, but had many dear friends who will always remember her lovely smile and warm enjoyment of everyone around her.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother-in-law, George Sullivan.

Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 12th & Nicollet, Minneapolis, on Saturday, April 26, at 11 a.m., with visitation preceding the service at 10 a.m.
