Brenda Marie (Levra) Lambert

ALVIN, Texas - Brenda Marie (Levra) Lambert, 54, of Alvin, formerly of Iron Belt, Wis., passed away Sunday evening, April 20, 2014, of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Manvel, Texas.

She was born on Dec. 13, 1959, in Wakefield, Mich., the daughter of Gordon and Judith (Johnson) Levra. Brenda graduated from Hurley High School. She continued her education and received a degree in nursing from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Duluth, Minn.

Brenda started her career at Herman Hospital in Houston. While working at the hospital, she met and cared for a special patient by the name of Bruce Lambert, who became her future husband.

Brenda continued her nursing career and transferred from the trauma unit to the cardiac care unit, where she was a room leader in the cardiac catheterization unit. Brenda later transferred into the research department. For the past 15 years, she worked as the coordinator in radiology research.

Brenda was a published author in peer-reviewed journals; her work won prestigious international awards at top-notch scientific conferences.

Brenda is survived by her mother and stepfather, Judith Levra and John P. "Chummy" Ozzello, Wakefield; her husband, Bruce, Alvin; three children, Brittany, Jacob and James, all of Alvin; a grandson, Darren Conway, Alvin; a sister, Patti (Domenic) Ceccon, Ironwood, Mich .; a niece, Nicole Ceccon, Ironwood; and a nephew, Kevin Ceccon, Minneapolis; her stepsister, Mary Ozzello, Wakefield; several loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and many dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon Levra.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, Wis., with the Rev. Frank Kordek, OFM, celebrant, and the Rev. Antony Lukka, concelebrant.

Lunch will be served in the parish hall following the Mass.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Iron Belt, at a later date.
