Ironwood - Organist Dave Wickerham performed a matinee concert at the Historic Ironwood Theatre Sunday.

He played such classics as "Easter Parade," "Joy to the World" and "The Windmills of Your Mind," which was featured in the film "The Thomas Crown Affair."

He also accompanied a silent film, starring the classic Hollywood duo of Laurel and Hardy.

Wickerham also played modern numbers, including a variety of blockbuster movie themes.

During intermission patrons wrote requests in the lobby and Wickerham played seamlessly from one tune to another after intermission for more than 30 minutes to cover most of those.

Wickerham was born in Encino, Calif., however he currently lives in Crystal Falls. There, he is the co-manager and organist at the Crystal Theatre.

Wickerham was named "Theatre Organist of the Year" by the American Theatre Organ Society in 2011.

"Our organ is a historic gem and after all the time our volunteers put into restoring it, it deserves to be played by an organist of Wickerham's caliber," Ironwood Theatre organ curator Tom Peacock said.
