IRONWOOD, Mich. - Susan Carol "Susie" Slade, 69, of Lake Road, Ironwood Township, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood, after battling chronic pulmonary fibrosis.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 52 years, Richard "Dick"; a brother, Raymond (Olive) Niemi; three sisters, Ida Lindberg, Nelmi Martinson and Florence (Gene) Thomas; her five children, Joanne (David) Zosel, Samuel (Christine) Slade, Wendy (Ted) Rauch, Susan (Matthew) Clausen, and Spencer (Britt) Slade; eleven grandchildren, Jaclyn, Tyler, Andrew, Samantha, Colin, Alexander, Vanessa, Nicholas, Madison, Maxwell, Eli, and soon-to-be grand baby 12; and her faithful Westie, Teddy. In her younger days, she was an avid 4-H leader and attended every event her children participated in, sometimes going to the far reaches of the U.P. to do so. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Finnish American Dance Group, and a bleacher fan to all of her grandchildren.
