Joseph LaForge

SUN CITY, Ariz. — Joseph LaForge, of Sun City, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2014, at the age of 94.

Joe was born April 20, 1920, in Ironwood, Mich., and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys.

He is survived by his brother, Peter LaForge (Peg); by his son, Joseph LaForge (Louise); his daughter, Mary DeMarco (William); two grandchildren, Tina Breithaupt (Brent) and Michelle Blasius (Jim Alva); and two great-grandchildren, Amelia Alva and Wesley Breithaupt.

After serving in World War II with the Army Air Corps, Joe relocated his family from Michigan to Mundelein, Ill., where he was employed by the Frank G. Hough Co. and later International Harvester. He retired after more than 30 years.

With such a great love for golf, he found himself employed at Countryside Golf Course and Steeplechase Golf Course until the young age of 91. After losing his wife, Joe relocated to Arizona to be closer to his children.

A Funeral Mass and reception will be held at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 22333 W. Erhart Road, Fremont Center, Ill., on Monday, June 16, at 10 a.m.
