Gerald J. 'Jerry' Krenzel


DULUTH, Minn. - Gerald J. "Jerry" Krenzel, 67, of Ironwood, Mich., died Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

Jerry was born Dec. 13, 1946, in Bessemer Township, Mich., to the late Walter and Regina (Kucala) Krenzel. He loved country and polka music, and especially enjoyed when Dorothy and The Boys would perform at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community where he resided. He also enjoyed fishing, and loved trucks, tractors and any kind of heavy equipment. Jerry was loved by all and had many friends.

Surviving are a brother, Donald Krenzel, St. Louis Park, Minn .; sister, Veronica Krenzel, Ironwood Township; and numerous nephews and cousins.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter "JoJo" Krenzel Jr.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood, with the Rev. Robb Jurkovich officiating.

Rite of Committal and interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
