Jeanette M. Berset

IRONWOOD, Mich. — Jeanette M. Berset, 72, of Ironwood Township, died Monday, June 2, 2014, in Ironwood.

She was born March 16, 1942, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Edwin and Allie (Maki) Piispanen.

On Aug. 24, 1963, she was united in marriage with Otto J. Berset in Moose Lake, Minn.

Jeanette was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironwood, and she was a former member of the church choir.

She was director of nursing at Westgate Living Center in Ironwood for 14 years. She later worked as a registered nurse at Sky View Nursing Home in Hurley, Wis.

She is survived by her husband, Otto; two sons, Faron, of Ironwood Township, and Dane, of Ironwood; three daughters, Letty Goodman, of Minot, N.D., Trena (Darrin) Bello, of Sacramento, Calif., and Darcy Johnson, of Fort Myers, Fla .; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Elwood Piispanen.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironwood. The Rev. Kurt Kovanen will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.

Burial will be in the Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.
