Elmer J. Berset


GARDENA, Calif. - Elmer J. Berset, 89, of Gardena, died Jan. 3, 2014, in Gardena.

He was born Oct. 30, 1925, in Oklahoma, the son of the late Otto J. and Ellen E. (Hansen) Berset Sr.

Elmer was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as an expediter. He was a World War II veteran, entering the Navy on Oct. 27, 1943, and serving until Nov. 1, 1944, obtaining the rank of HA2c.

Elmer is survived by his brother, Otto J. Berset Jr., of Ironwood, Mich.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 14, at 11 a.m. in the Oak Lake Community Cemetery in Moose Lake, Minn., with the Rev. Nathan Anderson, pastor of Oak Lake Lutheran Church officiating.

Arrangements are with Range Funeral Service and Crematory, Ketola-Burla Funeral Home of Ironwood.
