THE CLOUDS stayed away Saturday night and Sunday morning to give a glimpse of the super moon seen above the Hiawatha statue in Ironwood. The lunar event occurs when the moon is in the part of its orbit that is closest to earth at the same time as being a full moon. Super moons are bigger and brighter than regular full moons, but the difference is often hard for the naked eye to detect. The next super moons are Aug. 10 and Sept. 9.
