Dorothy Casey

DULUTH, Minn. - The Lord called Dorothy Casey home on Monday, Aug. 25, 2014.

She was a resident of KeenAgers in Wakefield, Mich.

Dorothy was the eldest of four children born to Frank and Inez Nicol. She was born on June 20, 1920, in Webb, Saskatchewan Canada.

Dorothy retired to Mountain Home, Ark., where she discovered bridge early in retirement and played regularly at local clubs for over 30 years.

She had a fondness for Labrador retrievers and had many through the years. She was a competitive target archer for many years and won a state championship while living in Illinois.

Dorothy is survived by four children, Edward (Regina) of Watersmeet, Mich., Patrick (Louise), of Boca Raton, Fla., Timothy (Wilma), of Bruce Crossing, Mich., and Maureen Casey Niemi, of Craig, Colo .; a sister, Diane, of British Columbia, Canada; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Mark E. Casey.

A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for Sept. 11, 2014, in Graceville at Holy Rosary Church, the church where she was married in 1945.
