George Thomas 'Tom' Goyins

BESSEMER, Mich. — George Thomas “Tom” Goyins, 72, of Fairview Apartments, Bessemer, died peacefully Monday, Oct. 27, 2014, in his home, following a lengthy illness.

Tom was born April 4, 1942, in Ironwood, son of the late George and Amelia (Bardon) Goyins, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1960. He then attended trade school in Minneapolis to learn small engine repair.

He was employed at White Pine Copper Co. for 12 years and at Rovelsky & Co. in Ironwood for several years. He also owned and operated a sign paintng shop in Ironwood. An accomplished accordianist, he played with Bits & Pieces on the Range for many years. Tom was a special man who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his very special friend and companion of 10 years, Carolyn Bachmeyer, of Ironwood; and his loving Shih Tzu, Tigger.

Out of respect for Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
