James R. Drews

FREMONT, Wis. — James R. Drews, 76, of Fremont, died on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014. 

Jim was born on April 11, 1938, in New London, the son of the late Reno and Leona (Krenke) Drews. On May 23, 1959, he married Beverly Jarchow. She preceded him in death on Aug. 22, 2010.

Jim worked for Larsen Co-op for over 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in the town of Caledonia where he formerly served as church president, as well as numerous other positions. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. 

Jim is survived by his son, Barry (fiancee, Tricia), Marenisco, Mich .; his daughter, Roxanne Drews, Fremont; eight grandchildren, Jason Diem, Troutman, N.C .; Savannah Burow, Chicago;  Anthony (Nikki) Tuchscherer, Appleton; Bailey (Devon) Starks, San Antonio, Texas; Taylor Drews, South Hampton, N.Y .; Sebastian and Olivia Capps, Marenisco; and Zachary Capps, Fla .; three great-grandchildren, Lucas and Devin Diem, and Elyas Tuchscherer; two sisters, Betty (Arlyn) Buchholz, Tenn., and Mavis Kohl, Fremont; a sister-in-law, Kathy Drews, Fremont; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Jim was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Raymond Drews; a son-in-law, Thomas Tuchscherer; a brother-in-law, John Kohl, and a sister-in-law, Betty (Eddie) Ort. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, E9016 Marsh Road, Fremont. Pastor Doug Reinders will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, and on Friday, at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church.
