'Claudettes Christmas Card' ready for Ironwood stage

IRONWOOD - Snow or no snow there's singing and dancing going on at rehearsals for "A Claudettes Christmas Card" to begin Dec. 4 at the Historic Ironwood Theatre.

The Christmas show is a collaboration between Theatre North, The Claudettes and the Historic Ironwood Theatre. Direction is by Cindy Franck and Choreography by Claudia Panasso.

Not only is Franck one of the dancers, but this duo has worked together on the past six shows along with Theatre North president Lori Lahti, and Bruce Greenhill of the Historic Ironwood Theatre, and their respective volunteers and board members. There's additional choreography by Margaret Grachek, Lori Lahti and the Von Drake Dancers.

"This show takes a village to produce," Franck said. The show includes local talent of all ages. Some new acts this year include a brass quartet, the HIT Idol winners choir, and the Gogebic Community College choir, Samson Sound.

"It's been a huge success in the past and this year's show will be spectacular," said Franck. "Everyone benefits from the fun it provides - for the performers and to the audiences who attend - plus, most of the profit from the show gets turned back into the community to support worthwhile causes."

"There are always many people to thank," said Ironwood Theatre manager Bruce Greenhill. "It would be impossible to list everybody, so on behalf of both theatres, we wish to say thank you to all our surrounding communities for their continuous support, and to all who have helped and are performing this year."

A Claudettes Christmas Card show runs Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.

There's no show on Friday due to the Jack Frost Parade and other downtown Ironwood activities that evening.

Tickets are available at the Leather and Gift shop in Bessemer and the Ironwood Theatre box office in downtown Ironwood.
