Mark Clifford Bruneau Jr.

CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — Mark Clifford Bruneau Jr., 72, of Chesterfield, died peacefully in the company of his family on Jan. 2, 2015.

He was born in Milwaukee, Wis., July 16, 1942, to Gloria and Mark Bruneau, Sr., and moved as a baby to Hurley where he attended St. Mary’s Grade School and was raised by Gloria and James Enrietti. He graduated from J.E. Murphy High School and from Gogebic Community College. He also attended Kenosha Technical Institute, East Central Community College and the University of Tennessee.

In 1971 he married Patricia Kraft in Milwaukee, and they moved to St. Clair. They later lived in Trenton, Ga., and Chattanooga, Tenn., before returning to Missouri, this time to Chesterfield. He worked in maintenance and engineering at a number of companies, including Bull Moose Tube Co. in St. Louis and Chrysler Corp. also in Missouri.

Mark had a love of fishing and a keen memory, which he used as an antique dealer when seeking fishing lures, as well as old books, mason jars and other collectibles. He often took his family galavanting to yard sales and auctions, and could spot a good one quickly. Mark was a curious and open-minded man who loved books, music of all kinds and truly awful puns.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Chesterfield; his mother, Gloria Enrietti, of Lapeer (formerly of Hurley); his daughter, Kris, of Jamaica Plain, Mass .; sons, Derek, of Watertown, Mass., and James, of Chattanooga; sister, Marcia (Ron) Billie, of Dryden, Mich .; nephew, Gene (Dawn) Billie, of Clinton Township, Mich .; niece, Leeann (Travis) Klein, of Manitowoc, Wis .; and their families, as well as numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, Mark Bruneau, Sr .; his step-father, James Enrietti; and step-brother, Dennis Enrietti.

In accordance with Mark’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. At the request of his family, donations in his memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund, which provided assistance in his later years.
