Norma T. Rigoni

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Norma T. Rigoni, 87, of Bessemer, died Thursday, March 5, 2015, in Wakefield. Norma was born at Grand View Hospital on April 27, 1927, to the late John and Mary Ann (Decime) Perucca.

She graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in 1945 and attended Business College in Milwaukee, Wis.

On May 21, 1949, Norma was united in marriage to Ray Rigoni at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer by the Rev. David Harris. Ray preceded her in death on July 19, 1999.

Norma's career included clerical work, banking, travel agent and radio sales. Norma retired in 2006 as a shareholder and vice president of a local radio station. She was loved by many who knew her in her more than 31 years of radio sales, until retiring at the age of 79. It was always said Norma could sell an air conditioner to an Eskimo. Norma loved to go to Arizona in the winter and to her travel trailer in Woodruff, Wis., in the summer.

Norma was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer and was very active in her faith. She was a very social person who loved people and had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Norma is survived by a son, Greg (Mary) Rigoni, Kingsford; two daughters, Betsy (Greg) Ludwig and Shelley (Chuck) Gervasio, both of Ironwood; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a very special friend and companion, Don Scheu.

In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Anders.

Her children, Greg and Betsy, would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Gogebic Medical Care Facility for their exceptional care.

Cremation has taken place at the Range Crematory in Hurley, Wis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. Father Antony Lukka will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Spring inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
