HOUGHTON, Mich. — Jeanne L. Smith Bonen, of Houghton, formerly Jeanne Holemo, of Ironwood, passed away on March 21, 2015, in Houghton, at the age of 92. She was born in Ironwood on June 17, 1922, the daughter of the late Harry and Saima (Hendrickson) Holemo.
Jeanne is survived by her husband, Roy Bonen; her beloved son, Steven Smith (Jennifer); grandchildren, Bradley, Keith, Corey and Heidi; six great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Polly (Carl) Baron; and sister-in-law, Margaret “Peggy” Holemo. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Oliver “Sarge” Smith; her parents, Saima and Harry; brothers, Harold, Olaf, Donald and Frederick; and sisters, Alice and Marian.
A family remembrance for Jeanne is planned for a later date.
