Charlotte 'Chod' Jenkins

WATERSMEET, Mich. — Charlotte “Chod” Jenkins, 81, a longtime resident of Watersmeet, died Monday, May 4, 2015, at her home.

She was born Nov. 10, 1933, in Land O’ Lakes, Wis., to Wiley and Myrtle Sparks.

Charlotte worked for 31 years for the U.S. Forestry Service in Watersmeet. She loved to spend her time with her family, especially her kids and all her grandchildren. Charlotte was an outdoor enthusiast who loved to grow flowers, greenery, camp and walk. She was a Lioness member in Watersmeet and an avid Ladies Aide member at her local churches.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Dale, and her 10 siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Terri (Robert) Mansfield and Chuckie (Paul) Kemppainen, both of Watersmeet; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the Watersmeet Bible Church in Watersmeet. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at the church.
