Ernest Joseph Schust

RACINE, Wis. - Earnest Joseph Schust, 79, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-All Saints.

Ernest was born in Rockland, Mich., on July 10, 1935, the son of the late Ernest and Catherine (nee: Wolfe) Schust.

Ernest proudly served in the U.S. Army, Airborne Division, during the Korean conflict. He was stationed in Germany and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. Ernie was a member of the 82nd Airborne Association.

He had been employed with Jacobson Manufacturing for 35 years.

Surviving are sisters-in-law, Barbara Schust and Donna Schust; nieces, Wendy DeJesus and Julie Butturff; nephew, Danny Schust; and cousin, Edward Malnar. He is further survived by longtime special friends, Elaine Davis, Sandy and Rob Gill; beloved dog, Charlie; and other relatives and friends.

Ernest was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Joseph and Allen Schust.

Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2015, at noon. Ernest will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, Mich. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 a.m. until service time at noon.
