Raymond W. 'Ray' Mollard

ASHLAND, Wis. - Raymond W. "Ray" Mollard, 62, of Ashland, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at the Golden Living Center Court Manor in Ashland.

He was born July 18, 1953, in Ironwood, Mich., the son of William F. and Dorothy (Augustynowicz) Mollard.

He graduated in 1971 from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood. He attended Gogebic Community College in Ironwood and graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from Northland College in Ashland.

On June 19, 1976, he married Catherine Yocum in Ashland. Ray worked as a Pinkerton Security Guard for Columbia Records in Terre Haute, Ind., and for the Holiday Village Grocery Store in Ashland. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Ashland and most importantly, Ray was the caregiver for his son, Anthony. He enjoyed coin collecting, music, antique cars and planes, and especially enjoyed socializing with people.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Catherine, of Ashland; his mother, Dorothy Mollard, of Ironwood; his son, Anthony, of Ashland; stepdaughter, Heather C. Johnson, of Ashland; stepson, Christopher (Amanda) Sustek Olivo, of Ashland; five grandchildren, Cyric Sustek, Serena Sanders, Brett Pflanzer, Nicholas Pflanzer and Brittany Johnson; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Flynn and Carter.

He was preceded in death by his father, William F .; and his brother, John.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
