Karen M. Marczak

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Karen M. Marczak, 56, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, yet unexpectedly, at her apartment on Sunday, May 24, 2015.

She was born on April 24, 1959, in Ironwood, Mich., to Edward and Betty (Olson) Blomquist.

Karen's first priority was raising her family. She then entered the working field and recently became an anesthesia technician for St. Vincent Hospital. She enjoyed any time she could travel, especially when she took her family with her. They traveled to Florida many times and enjoyed time on the beach.

Karen loved to go on bike rides and go for walks. She was a member of the Wisconsin Adopt a Golden Retriever Association and loved the goldens her family had over the years.

Karen was a social woman who enjoyed talking on the phone and texting. Life for her became fuller when her granddaughter, Emma Mae, was born.

Karen will be sadly missed by her two children and a daughter-in-law, Shaun and Kristie Marczak; their daughter, Emma Mae, Eau Claire; Alyse Marczak, Milwaukee; her former husband, Thomas Marczak; her father, Edward Blomquist; four siblings and their spouses, Jane and Rob Sobolewski, Gail and Don Wolfe, Jeff and MaryKay Blomquist, Mike Blomquist; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Betty Blomquist.

The funeral service will be held at the Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, on Friday, May 29, 2015, at 6 p.m. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.
