Ann Busch

BESSEMER, Mich. - Ann Busch, 96, a lifelong resident of Bessemer Township, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, June 27, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born on July 14, 1918, in Anvil Location, Bessemer, a daughter of George and Rose (Peer) Smiljanich. She attended Bessemer Schools.

On April 24, 1937, Ann was united in marriage to Paul W. Busch.

She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Ramsay and St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer.

Ann is survived by two daughters, Donna (Walter) Rickard, Ramsay, and Karen (Russell) Korpi, Wakefield; a son, Paul D. Busch (Sally Brannan), Iron River; five grandchildren, Lisa (Bruce) Seiffert, Walt Rickard, Melissa (Michael) Sibley, Dawn Korpi and Russell (Cindy) Korpi; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Sarah Smiljanich, and Muriel Busch, both of Wakefield; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, in 1996; two brothers, George and Joseph F. Smiljanich; two sisters, Madeline Sieraski and Agatha Pogliano; and three nephews, James Pogliano, and Frank and Richard Sieraski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 2, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, with the Rev. Antony Lukka, celebrant.

Rite of Committal and interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Bessemer.

Pallbearers will be her family.

Lunch will be served at Father Swoboda Hall at the church following the cemetery service.

The family wishes to thank everyone at the Gogebic Medical Care Facility for their kindness and loving care that was given to Ann during her stay there.
