Ronald W. Ellsworth

DULUTH, Minn. - Ronald W. Ellsworth, 57, of Ironwood, Mich., and formerly of Wakefield, Mich., died unexpectedly Friday, June 26, 2015, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.

Ron was born May 2, 1958, in Baraga, Mich., son of the late Peter and Beverly (Emery) Ellsworth, and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1976. He then served a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy, stationed out of San Diego, Calif.

Following discharge from the Navy, he resided in Antioch, Calif., for one year and worked in a power plant. Moving back to Wakefield in 1982, he was employed as a logger until injury forced his retirement.

Ron had a big heart and a contagious laugh, and was a friend to all. A loving father, grandfather and brother, he will be deeply missed.

He had a marriage with Ellen Stokes and had a daughter, Jaclyn. He also had two sons with Connie (Johnson) Hacken, Joshua and Justin.

Surviving are a daughter, Jaclyn Ellsworth, Antioch, Calif .; two sons, Joshua and Justin (Kellie), both of Ironwood; two grandchildren, Jay Lynn and Aleena; two brothers, Andy and Robert "Bahoo;" and five sisters, Kim (Dave) Ribich, Lee Ellsworth, Georgie Ellsworth, Evelyn Ellsworth and Mercedes (Bill) Ellsworth-Woody.

In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by a nephew, Cody Ringsmuth.

Out of respect for his wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial gathering in celebration of Ron's life will be held Thursday, July 2, from 2 to 5 p.m., with a time for sharing of memories from 4 to 5 p.m., at the McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home, 305 N. Lowell St., in Ironwood.
