Robert Serbin

KINGWOOD, Texas - Robert Serbin, of Kingwood, passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2015.

Robert was born to John and Julia (Mojeck) Serbin in Bessemer, Mich., on July 8, 1926. After graduating from high school, Robert joined the U.S. Navy where he was a signalman on the U.S.S. Catamount. He later went to play football for Moorhead State University where he became captain of the team. Robert loved playing golf, traveling and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne Serbin; his children, Valerie Nowell of Kingwood, Vonni Contreary of New Orleans, Bob Serbin of Discovery Bay, Calif., and Tad Serbin of Winter Park, Fla .; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandaughter; and his siblings, Margie Kuula, Annabelle Sellstorm, Katherine Mays and Lavern Eady.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life for Robert was held Friday, June 26, at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
