Barbara Jean (Rigoni) Anderson

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Barbara Jean (Rigoni) Anderson, 69, of Las Vegas, formerly of Ironwood, passed away Monday, July 13, 2015, in Las Vegas.

She was born May 1, 1946, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Reno and Marian (Malmberg) Rigoni.

Barbara attended local schools and graduated from St. Ambrose Catholic High School with the class of 1964. She attended Beauty School in Duluth, Minn.

She was employed by the French Beauty Salon and the County Clipper in Ironwood as a beautician for many years before moving to Las Vegas. She resided in Las Vegas for 28 years, where she was a supervisor of housekeeping at the Sahara Casino until retirement. Barbara was a big fan of NASCAR and number 24, Jeff Gordon. She was also a devoted Green Bay Packer fan.

She was married to William Edward Anderson on Oct. 17, 1970, in Ironwood, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on June 4, 2003.

She is the beloved mother and grandmother of daughters, Shelley (George) Smith, Suzanne (Robert) Wallace; grandchildren, Nicholas Leveck, Nevaeh Wallace and Summer Wallace, all of Las Vegas. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Diane (Stan Oliphant) Rigoni, Joe (Kathy) Rigoni, Patty (Joe) Metzger, Rosalie Rigoni, Rebecca (Bernie Hibbeln) Eskola, Brian Rigoni, Tonette (Paul) Tilton, and Greg Rigoni, all of Ironwood, and Gretchen (Frank Murray) McHugh, of Ogdensberg, N.Y .; two sisters-in-law, Sally Anne Bonacci and Kathy (Gary) Johnson; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Richard.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at a private ceremony at Rigoni's Inn.
