Adina 'Ginger' Gasbarri

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Adina "Ginger" Gasbarri, 95, formerly of Hurley, Wis., died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood.

The former Adina Klug was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Garfield, Minn., to Carl and Dina (Kloehn) Klug. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church in Garfield.

Adina was united in marriage to Louis Gasbarri on Jan. 19, 1942, in Bessemer. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.

Adina and her husband, Louis, worked and managed a motel for 20 years in Hurley. She worked for several years for a government agency in Ironwood. During the time she lived at Villa Maria Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hurley, she enjoyed doing volunteer work there. She was a great cook and made wonderful Italian meals, for being a German girl. Some of the Italians in the area said she was a better Italian cook than some of the Italians. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hurley.

She is survived by one son, Jerel Gasbarri, Mercer, Wis .; five grandchildren, Aimee Gasbarri, Thomas Gasbarri, Craig Oswell, Leslie Oswell and Elaine Oswell; two stepgrandchildren, Chad Gasbarri and Shawn Gasbarri; two great-grandchildren, Logan (Kelsey) Lang and Dillon Lang; one stepgreat-grandchild, Amber Lang; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren, Bryant Lang and Treyton Lang; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; daughter, Cheryl Oswell; daughter-in-law, Hiede Gasbarri; grandson, Brad Gasbarri; and five brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hurley, with Pastor Tim Johnson officiating.

Committal and interment will follow in the Hurley Cemetery.

Luncheon will be served in the church fellowship hall upon return from the cemetery.
