Doris J. 'Dori' Garreau

IRONWOOD, Mich. - Doris J. "Dori" Garreau, 86, of Hurley, Wis., died peacefully Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015, with her family by her side, at Aspirus Grand View Hospital in Ironwood, following a brief illness.

The former Doris Augustson was born April 7, 1929, in Hurley, daughter of the late Niilo and Hilma (Ruslin) Augustson. She attended Cary and Hurley schools and graduated from J.E. Murphy High School in 1947.

She was united in marriage to Leonard C. Garreau on Aug. 28, 1948, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2007.

Doris enjoyed downhill skiing in her younger years, cooking, baking, spending time at Pine Lake and going to garage sales in Waunakee, Wis. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Hurley.

Surviving are a son, Robert, Waunakee; daughter, Jeanne Morzenti (John Davis), Oma, Wis .; two grandchildren, Jason (Le) Morzenti, St. Paul, Minn., and Christina Morzenti, Montreal, Wis .; one great-grandson, Aidan Morzenti; a sister, Ruth Helin, Gile, Wis .; daughter-in-law, Tina Garreau, Gile; sisters-in-law, Mildred Maki and Faye Garreau, Union Grove, Wis .; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Doris was predeceased by a son, Dennis, in 1998.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Private family graveside services and interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hurley.
