Edward H. Johnson

BRUCE CROSSING, Mich. — Edward H. Johnson, 77, of Bruce Crossing, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2015, at his home.

He was born Sept. 18, 1938, in Bruce Crossing to Hubert and Edna (Pesonen) Johnson. He married Charlotte Elliott in Wakefield in 1960. Ed worked as a truck driver for the Co-op, and later worked in the maintenance department at the White Pine Copper Mine until his retirement.

He was a very talented woodworker and loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Some of his favorite memories were trucking cross-country with his son-in-law.

Ed is survived by his wife, Charlotte; daughter, Sheri (Mark) Gondek; granddaughter, Kacee; great-grandson, Blake; numerous cousins; and some very special neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Harvey and Bertha Elliott; sisters-in-law, Patty Pikka and Cindy Elliott; and beloved dog, Queenie.

A memorial service for Edward will be held Monday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Bruce Crossing. Friends may gather from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Cane Funeral Home – Bruce Crossing Chapel is assisting the family.
