Mercer candidate forum rescheduled

MERCER, Wis. — With a winter storm warning in effect for Iron County, the planned candidate forum in Mercer has been rescheduled to Monday.

According to information on the town’s website, the forum, previously set for Tuesday night, will now be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at the Mercer Community Center.

The forum will be hosted by the Iron County Citizens Forum and the Mercer Public Library and will feature candidates running for two seats on the town board.

A previous release regarding the forum said all six candidates running in the election had been invited to attend.

William Brundage, James Davis, Gordon Kohegyi, Michael Lambert, Victor Ouimette and John Sendra filed papers to run for the seats, according to county clerk Michael Saari, requiring a primary be held on Feb. 16.

The primary will decide which four candidates will continue to the general election, where the top two vote-getters will be seated on the town board.

For more information on the forum, contact the library at 715-476-2366.
