Jeanette I. Schinderle

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Jeanette I. Schinderle, 74, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016, at Bellin Memorial Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.

She was born Feb. 4, 1941, in Bessemer, Mich., daughter of the late William and Mabel (Parent) Honkala.

Jeanette grew up in Bessemer and graduated from Bessemer High School, Class of 1959. She went on to attend Northern Michigan University where she received her nursing certificate.

Jeanette married Bernard "Doc" Schinderle on Sept. 30, 1961, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2004.

She worked for Dickinson County Hospital as a nurse for a few years and later cleaning for Dickinson Homes.

She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, loved bird watching, hunting, playing Scrabble and especially the time spent with her family and granddaughter.

Jeanette is survived by one son, Andrew Schinderle, Iron Mountain; four sisters, Yvonne (Eugene) Montesi, Washington; Mable (Jim) Green, Ironwood, Mich .; Carolyn Alexandroni, Ironwood, and Jane Ramme, Ironwood; one granddaughter, Abby Schinderle. and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, "Doc," she was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Honkala; and one grandson, Bernard A. Schinderle, in 2006.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 29, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Msgr. James Kaczmarek officiated. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.

A memorial will be established in her memory.
