ROCKLAND — The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a fatal snowmobile accident by Negaunee Regional dispatch Wednesday evening at 10:35.
The accident occurred on Trail 12, 1/4 mile south of Old Victoria Rd. in Rockland Township.
It is believed the driver of the vehicle, Brady Allan Kuennen, 36, of Waucoma, Iowa, was traveling on Trail 12 when he lost control, fell off the snowmobile and struck a tree, according to a sheriff’s department release.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor, department officials said in the release.
The accident is still under investigation.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by Rockland Township Fire Department, Sonco Ambulance and the Michigan State Police.
