IRONWOOD BAND Director Steve Boyd directs a group of students from the Ironwood, Bessemer and Wakefield-Marenisco school districts playing alpine horns during Tuesday's solo and ensemble competition at Luther L. Wright K-12 School. The students not only learned how to play the horns, they also helped build their instruments. The horns are most commonly associated with Switzerland. Among the students who took part in the performance were, from left, Brett Mattson, Ironwood; Madeline Gabka, Bessemer; Rico Braucher, Ironwood; Isaiah Sturkel, Wakefield-Marenisco; Lilly Weringa, Bessemer; and Vaida Legalo, Ironwood.
