Elsie A. Pedrin 

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Elsie A. Pedrin, 91, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully into the arms of our Lord early Saturday morning, May 28, 2016, surrounded by her family.

Elsie was born on Dec. 24, 1924, in Merrill, Wis., a daughter of August Carl and Mary Etta (Martz) Kottman.  She attended school in Merrill.

Elsie worked in Chicago, Merrill and at various businesses in Wakefield.

She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wakefield.

Elsie was an avid reader, enjoyed watching Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless television soaps and took pleasure in family gatherings.

She will be remembered by her family and friends as a loving, caring and giving person, who never complained and was always willing to help others.

Elsie is survived by her daughters, Beverly (Detlef) Liedtke, Wakefield, Shirley Spies, Carolyn Kinnunen and Gloria Tessemer, all of Ironwood, Mary Ellen (T.J.) Loveland, Sparta, Wis., Lucinda Williams, Ironwood, Phyllis Pollack, of West Virginia, Linda (Paul) Waara, Sheboygan, Wis., and Gloria Gumm, Mary Pedrin, Betty Jackson and Julianne Roland, all of Ironwood; sons, Edward Spies, Ironwood, Leonard Spies, La Crosse, Wis., Ross (Nancy) Parrish, of Oregon, and Bernie Pedrin and Dave (Roberta) Pedrin, both of Wakefield; sisters, Josephine Morrison and Gloria Raddatz, both of Wakefield, and Rose Kleinschmidt, Merrill; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edward O. Spies; her second husband, Bernard A. Pedrin; daughters, Bernadine, in infancy and Elsie "Dolly" Murphy; sons, Raymond, George, Jimmy, Tommy and Howard Pedrin; brothers, Julius, Jimmy, Roger and LeRoy Kottman; and a sister, Margaret Severt.   

A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 2, at noon, preceded by visitation at 11 a.m., at the Calvary Baptist Church, corner of Lahti and Peters streets in Wakefield, with the Rev. Mike Riley officiating.

A committal service and interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.

Lunch will be served at the church fellowship hall upon return from the cemetery.
