Greta Jean Lindberg

IRONWOOD, Mich. — Greta Jean Lindberg, 56, of Ironwood, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 19, 2016, in her home.

Greta was born June 30, 1959, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Jack and Elaine (Eliason) Lindberg, attended Central Grade School, and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1978. She worked at Ironwood Plastics for several years, then became a certified nurse’s aide and worked at Westgate Nursing, Rehabilitation and Assisted Living Community in Ironwood for many years. Her last employment was in housekeeping at the Comfort Inn in Ironwood.

Greta was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Ironwood. She enjoyed needlework and doing crossword puzzles, and was Jack and Elaine’s best giggler.

Surviving are a brother, John Lindberg (Debbie Balisterri), Milwaukee; three sisters, Kristine Ward, Lynchburg, Va., Kathy (John) Jacobs, Petoskey, and Becky Lindberg, Duluth, Minn .; niece, Jennifer (Jon) Beasley, Lynchburg; nephew, Ethan Jacobs, Petoskey; great-nephew, Gregory Beasley, Lynchburg; aunts and uncles, Bob and June Lindberg, Lake Gogebic, Nancy Lindberg, Wells, Nev., Jean Lindberg, Kewaunee, Wis., Shirley Neely, Dallas, and Sharon Usinger, Edgerton, Wis .; and numerous cousins.

In addition to her parents, Greta was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Robert “Butch” Ward; and several aunts and uncles.

Out of respect for her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Private graveside services and committal will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Salem Lutheran Church, 333 E. Aurora St., Ironwood, MI 49938.
