Donald R. Matusewic

DULUTH, Minn. - Donald R. Matusewic, a resident of Montreal, Wis., moved to Heaven on July 5, 2016.

He was born Dec. 3, 1950, in Ironwood, Mich., the son of Edward and Patricia Cox. He attended schools in Montreal and Hurley, Wis., graduating in 1970.

In 1970, he married Gail Wahlberg and they celebrated 45 years of marriage.

He held various jobs through the years, retiring from Ironwood Plastics in 2003. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Gail; son, Tony (Mary), Rice Lake, Wis .; daughters, Tina (Max) Rea, Wausau, Wis., and Tracy (James) Thompson, Madison, Wis .; grandchildren, Rachel, Nathan and Adeline; stepgrandchildren, Michelle (Mike) Fiedler and Melissa (Paul) Hemrick; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Liam, Bennett and Eloise. Also are surviving are brother Joe (Tracy) Matusewic; sisters, Mary (Jerry) Mattson and Margaret (Robert) Escalante; brothers-in-law, Glen (Deb) Wahlberg and Gene (Pat) Wahlberg, and uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and special companion, Penny.

He was predeceased by his parents; grandparents; twin brother, Daniel; and siblings, Helen, Virginia "Ginger," Judy and Edward.

At his request, his body was donated to science. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 9, at the Iron Belt, Wis., Community Center, beginning at noon.
