Dolores E. DeZur

GREENFIELD, Wis. - Dolores E. DeZur, 86, of Greenfield, died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016, at her son's home under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.

She was born on April 26, 1930, in Oma, a daughter of the late Verner and Eleanor (Silvola) Thompson. She married Donald DeZur on May 6, 1950. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2015.

She graduated from Hurley High School. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church in Greenfield.

She enjoyed being of Finnish descent, and was accomplished in many Finnish crafts, such as rug looming, sewing and knitting. She enjoyed traveling with her husband during their retirement years. Dolores was an avid gardener and was blessed with a "green thumb."

Survivors include three sons, Daryl (Kathy) DeZur, of Summit Lake, Daniel (Mary Anne) DeZur, of Oshkosh, and Douglas (Judy) DeZur, of Greenfield; six grandchildren, Liane (Mark) Morris, David (Angelique) DeZur, Dana DeZur, Ryan (Melissa) DeZur, Samantha DeZur and Louie DeZur; six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kennedy, Alayna, Jacob, Dylan and Lucas; three sisters, Doris Morello, of Montreal, Verna (George) Nasi, of Pence, and Joan (Allen) Vobejda, of Wilson; and a brother, Eugene (Kathleen) Thompson, of Superior. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Thompson, and a brother-in-law, Henry Morello.

Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, Mich., on Friday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m., with a gathering to follow at the Memorial Building in Hurley.
